Join a Team That Puts People First

A&F Sprinklers has been protecting lives and property since 1986. As a growing, employee-owned business, we’re proud of our people-first culture and commitment to excellence.

We’re looking for a hands-on Sprinkler Design/Project Engineer to join our Repairs Division, ideally someone with experience in small works such as shop unit fit-outs, minor refurbishments, and system alterations.

This role is perfect for a Design Engineer who is confident using AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software, and who is ready to take the next step into Project Management. You’ll bring 3+ years’ experience in fire sprinklers, along with a solid understanding of how small-scale projects are delivered.

  • Managing minor installations, system modifications, and remedial works.
  • Reviewing and producing technical drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Attending site visits, client meetings, and handovers.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH documentation.
  • Supporting junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience in fire sprinklers.
  • Familiarity with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, or FM Global standards.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and hydraulic calculation software (e.g., FHC).
  • Revit experience is a bonus but not essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple small projects simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • Hours – Full-time position with flexible working hours (flexi-time), allowing you to manage your schedule while meeting project and team needs.

  • Buy/Sell Leave – Buy and sell additional annual leave for those well deserved trips.
  • Performance-Based Bonuses – Enjoy our company bonus scheme, paid twice a year in summer and winter.
