We are seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our growing Main Contracts team. You’ll be responsible for designing automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards and company expectations. This is a hands-on role requiring site visits, collaboration with multiple departments, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing sprinkler systems in accordance with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards. Your duties will include producing and reviewing detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and company standards.

You will attend contract handover meetings, conduct site checks to verify pipe routes and avoid clashes, and collaborate with the Design Manager to resolve any design issues. Additionally, you will prepare and issue final construction drawings to relevant stakeholders, produce “As Fitted” drawings throughout the contract, and support other departments to drive continuous improvement and contribute to overall business operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems.
  • Knowledge of LPC/BS EN 12845, NFPA, FM Global Datasheets, and FHC rules.
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and work towards LPCB design qualifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with design checklists and documentation processes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to attend training and participate in company meetings and projects.
  • Valid UK driving licence (if applicable).
