Fire Protection in Fashion at Clipper Logistics

Clipper Logistics is an award-winning independent logistics companies with a turnover of £235 million, a network of 40 sites and 6.8 million sq. ft. of warehousing space. It provides ‘able yet nimble’ logistics solutions to customers throughout the UK and Europe.
Having won a contract with the parent company of prestigious high street fashion retailer Zara, Clipper Logistics took possession of a 342,622 sq. ft. warehouse at Grange Park in Northampton.
The fit-out of the premises to meet Clipper Logistics’ specific requirements included the design and installation of a sprinkler system that would provide first-class protection against the risk of fire at the premises. This was especially important given that 100% of Zara’s online sales would be distributed from this location.
Clipper Logistics has worked with A & F Sprinklers, one of the UK’s largest independent LPS 1048 Level 4 approved sprinkler installers, for many years and was the natural choice for the project.
A & F Sprinklers designed and installed sprinkler protection to the roof, racking, mezzanine and office areas with water supplies and AFFF foam tank. Associated building works were also undertaken. The project was designed to standard LPC BSEN 12845 Inc. Technical Bulletins.
